Receiving numerous messages from aspiring transcriptionists allows me to get different stories of their quest to get better jobs. Soon, I hope to provide training materials for serious applicants. Here are some of the messages I received.

With the surging trend of the internet technology and the handy dandy laptops, I am excited to use such resources and maximize my own potential. It’s been my long time desire to have a laptop where I could just learn about the world at the tip of my fingers. And not to mention generate my own income. Now, that I do have one and the fact that I am working during the day as an ordinary employee with just a manageable workload, I felt the need to still do more work and learn at the same time. I also realized that my current earnings were half as what I used to get when I was a call center agent.

I have been longing to find other means where I could really use my skills. I stumbled upon transcription works through a job ad in the newspaper, I did apply and soared through their assessments and was advised to report for training. But then, I realized it’s just another night job for me. I really dreaded the fact that I have to again, work at night and miss out living during the day. So I decided to find another option. I got hired as soon as somebody resigned with my friend’s company. I found the job quiet challenging and a bit easy. The pay not to mention is enough but definitely I do have a hard time saving.

My gut tells me that there are more options for me to earn extra. I know the web is full of it. It’s only a matter of segregating the legal ones from the scams. I checked info from time to time. I am still curious to know how this home based jobs work and how one can really earn. So I joined several sites, read information about it and here I am applying for my first online job. I do hope I pass this assessment and do as much as I can to help out with Archie’s team and earn for myself.”

And sometimes I did not get to eat that much because I was sticking on what I budgeted. When you are working away from home every move you make needs to spend money. I was not able to save with the money I earned because of the expenses that I had to pay. And so, when I got the chance of going back home in our province and took a vacation, I was able to learn that I could actually work at home if I would want to. All I need is to have my own computer with a fast internet connection. I have friends who informed me about home based jobs. Some of them are in an outbound account, while some of them are in a non-voice account. I was told about the convenience of working at home. It is true that if you are working at home the money that you will be earning can help you not only save enough for yourself but also be able to share it to your parents in paying the bills at home. I don’t have to worry about transportation allowance. I don’t have to worry about getting stuck with heavy traffic. For me, working at home will be the best working place. And I am very sure that I will be able to finish all the tasks that will be given to me on time.”

Since I began studying, I have never had a single chance to have a work experience because my mother wants me to have a focus on my studies. I got jealous with other teens that are working while studying because they can earn for themselves, and the fact that they already have a work experience which they can write on their resumes. But now, I have realized that even without adequate work experience, it’s not a hindrance in stepping into a new world. Everyone was born with nothing. We just had the chance to explore that’s why we have earned knowledge. The more knowledgeable people have just grabbed the opportunity to continually nurture the knowledge that they have, and practice what they have learned.

I can say that I can start to work as a transcriptionist because I know that the knowledge I have earned from my studies is a big help for me in this career. Aside from that, I am not closing my doors in learning new skills that could continually enhance my capabilities to be a better transcriptionist. Finally, I am very much willing to accept any criticisms or corrections from anyone in the team, for these two things are the greatest tools that I could use to assess myself as a transcriptionist, and be the best that I can in this transcribing industry.
