PAL flight 658

PAL flight 658

After the long awaited time,  the Philippine Airlines (PAL) once again flies to Saudi Arabia. PAL resumes services to Riyadh on March 28, 2010. From then on, the non-stop flights will continue four times weekly.

I had the chance to avail it’s flight PR 658 using the BOEING 747-400 leaving Manila NAIA Terminal 2 on May 20, 2010 at 09:00 AM. There was a slight delay in boarding the plane but overall the flight is fine.

I’ve heard news regarding the not so good service of PAL, but based on my experience – being a not so frequent traveler, I believe the service is fine with me. Since the flight is non-stop, I like it that way similar to my previous travel in Jeddah with Saudi Arabian Airlines for work in a government hospital.  There is no hassle transferring from one plane to another even if most Filipinos prefer the flight from different airlines servicing the Middle East with connecting flights usually a stopover in Hong Kong, Dubai or Doha.

The plane landed in Riyadh  almost on time at 02:00 PM (Riyadh time) on the same day with the ‘usual hassles’ in the airports of Saudi Arabia. Anyone reading this who has been to the Kingdom knows what I am referring to the ‘usual hassles’ in the airport.
