I’m quite fascinated to hear how someone started his career. Here are some of the answers I receive when I asked the question “How did you learn about the writing career?” to the applicants on my post about the part time writing job.

I basically didn’t know anything about the writing career. I just thought that, since this job requires online associate writers, there is a big possibility that it is open for online applications.  Although I may yet to have my first online job as an associate writer, I am very much willing to take this as a new opportunity to expand my writing capabilities.

I am more of a free lance writer but I used to write for school magazines and newspapers. For once, I also became an editor-in-chief for a collegiate paper.  Tough job but very rewarding, seeing everything that you worked for published and read by others. As a beginner, of course, I am always open for feedbacks, be it positive or negative. Receiving comments from superiors or even readers always give me a new learning experience which, for a good reason, improves my writing potentials.

As for now, I do have a regular job. I’m a Product Support Representative. I just want to make my spare time as productive as possible. Having two jobs at the same time is a challenge but what is even more challenging is meeting the demands of both without compromise. And I am very much open for that challenge.

Reading: A Tool to an Improved and Innovative Writing

To improve one’s writing is to improve one’s choice of content and context. Content refers to the topic plus the supporting facts or details. Context, like ‘style’ refers to the manner by which the writer addresses his topic. It is dependent on three things: purpose, audience and medium. All three aids in defining what to use in terms of: persona, voice, and words.
