Approximately 8 pm today in Saudi Arabia, Viber announced to restore Viber at least for Android users. The announcement was made by Viber through their Facebook Page. Viber is also asking for their Facebook Page followers in Saudi Arabia to comment and feedback if any issues occur.

I made a quick check and this image below was I get from my Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.1. Indeed, Viber is now restored for a start in Android devices.

To allow Viber on your Andorid device, Viber suggested to use your Saudi Arabia Number and that should be +966 – I suppose for all Sawa STC, Mobily and Zain users.

Hey Saudi users!!

We’ve been working hard, real hard, to restore service to all of you in Saudi Arabia.

We now have a TEST version that hopefully allows Android users in KSA (iPhone is a few weeks away) to connect again to Viber. For now, this version will only work if you are registered with a Saudi Number (+966). To test this version, please go to https://bit.ly/getviber – if it works, please comment here. Viber is working hard to restore service in Saudi Arabia via all platforms – so maybe a test version will also be announced very soon for IOS iPhone users.

Earlier in June 2013, the residents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were furious to know Viber was blocked by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) . Immediately few days after, Viber’s CEO Talmon Marco vowed to restore the service soon
