Captivatingly Unique Cappadocia in Turkey

When my chance to travel in Turkey came upon me, I did not hesitate to grab the opportunity. Although, I packed my bags only a day before my trip, I made sure to get ready my DSLR. Thanks there was someone to make a well-organized itinerary, and we headed to Turkey. Included in the trip is a visit to this wonderful place – Cappadocia.

You may ask why in Cappadocia.  Cappadocia is a is a ancient region in Central Anatolia, largely in Nevsehir Province, in Turkey Well, you see, I am fascinated by the rich history and culture of Turkey. I wanted to explore the heart of this country and experience what Cappadocia could offer.  Some of my personal acquaintances and friends told me that hot air ballooning in Cappadocia is one experience that I shouldn’t miss.

And so, after landing in Istanbul, we met our local tour operator and we roamed the city for a while. We headed towards Cappadocia – flight is about 1 hour and 15 minutes to the airport of Nevsehir, then took the shuttle to Cappadocia . We arrived early nighttime and checked in to one of renowned cave hotels of Cappadocia. Then we had dinner to a nearby restaurant and tasted what Turkish food like. The next day, we had an exhilarating hot air balloon experience. It was fun seeing the sights of Cappadocia from above.

We stayed in Cappadocia for two days. Most of the activities that must be done were all completed in this short of time. It is suggested of course the hot air balloon ride, the NorthernCappadocia tour and the Cappadocia Southern tour. These tours would include the visit to fairy chimneys, underground cities, Ihlara Valley among others to my recall.

If you would take these guided tours, there were included meals in between and the tour guides would explain every bits and pieces of information that you must know. Although, at times there were too much of information that were fed on to you, so you just needed to take what’s interesting to you.

So when visiting Turkey, you must take time in travelling to Cappadocia to experience the uniqueness and rich history of Turkey.
